As part of the bilateral cooperation between Malta and Italy in the field of Defense, a team of special forces from COMSUBIN - worked with the Maltese Special Operations Unit to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) to conduct Special Operations in the maritime environment.

In the last week of training, the High Speed Multipurpose Naval Unit (UNPAV) "Tullio Tedeschi" integrated with the Mobile Training Team and, through its strong support capabilities for the Special Forces, multiplied the training return in favour of all participants.  The ship was hosted by the AFM in the splendid setting of the port of Marsamxett at Hay Wharf, home-base of the Maritime Squadron.

In this context, the Ambassador of Italy to Malta, H.E. Fabrizio Romano, embarked on Tullio Tedeschi to attend the final training phase which, through a synergistic effort of the AFM and national air and naval assets, made it possible to effectively combine the individual capabilities of the units under training.

Ambassador Romano remarked how the coordination of the Italian Military Mission, resident on the archipelago, was precious for the full success of the cooperation activity, and how this has further enriched the bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
