Ieri sera, presso la Scuola di San Rocco in Venezia, la Banda Musicale della Marina Militare si è esibita in concerto. A coronamento delle attività del IX Venice Regional Seapower Symposium, 65 musicisti, diretti dal Capitano di Fregata Antonio Barbagallo, sono stati presentati da Benedetta Rinaldi e hanno suonato 12 brani del loro repertorio.

Il Capo di Stato Maggiore della Marina, Ammiraglio di Squadra Luigi Binelli Mantelli, che dato il benvenuto ai Capi e ai rappresentanti delle Marine intervenute, ha poi salutato la città di Venezia e ringraziato la Scuola Grande di San Rocco per la splendida opportunità.

«La nona edizione del Simposio è stata un successo. Ringrazio i miei collaboratori e tutti voi stasera intervenuti per la vostra amicizia e per il lavoro stimolante che abbiamo portato a termine».  L’Ammiraglio - dando l'arrivederci a fra due anni - ha poi aggiunto: «voglio dedicare questa serata a tutti i marinai del mondo». Dopo l’ultimo brano dal titolo ‘La ritirata’, scritta dal maestro Tommaso Mario, l’Ammiraglio Binelli ha concluso la serata ricordando i nostri Fucilieri di Marina, Massimiliano La Torre e Salvatore Girone, ancora trattenuti in India.

L’evento ha avuto il patrocinio dei Ministeri degli Affari Esteri, degli Interni, dello Sviluppo Economico, dell'Ambiente, delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti. Il Simposio ha avuto anche il contributo dell’Istituto Professionale per l’enogastronomia e l’ospitalità alberghiera " Renda” di Polistena (Reggio Calabria)  oltre al supporto fornito, all’intera manifestazione, da parte di Fincantieri.

Concert of the  Navy Band in Venice: Remembering the two Italian marines held in India

Last night, the Band of the Italian Navy performed at the School of San Rocco in Venice.  At the end of the IX Venice Regional Seapower Symposium, 65 musicians, conducted  by Commander Antonio Barbagallo, performed 12 songs from their repertoire.

The Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli, welcomed the Heads and representatives of the Navies and greeted the city of Venice and especially thanked the Scuola Grande di San Rocco for the wonderful opportunity offered.

"The ninth edition of the Symposium has been a success. I want to thank  my colleagues and you all tonight for your friendship and for the challenging work we have accomplished". The Admiral added: "I want to dedicate this evening to all the sailors of the world". After the last song 'The Retreat' - composed by Mr. Tommaso Mario,- Admiral Binelli Mantelli concluded the evening remembering the Marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, still held in India.

The event was sponsored by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Economic Development, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport. The Symposium enjoyed  the contribution of the Professional Institute for wine, food and hospitality "Renda" in  Polistena (Reggio Calabria), and the great support of  Fincantieri.
