A delegation from the Algerian Navy, comprising 4 officers of the Algerian Navy Schools Command, paid yesterday a visit to the Centro Addestramento Aeronavale della Marina Militare (MARICENTADD).

The delegation was welcomed by representatives from our Navy, members of the OSN-Orizzonte Sistemi Navali and ECA-Sindel, the firm that has built (in cooperation with the Italian Navy Training Center) the “naval simulator” which will be used in the innovative “training program” dedicated to the crew members of the BDSL (Batiment de Debarquement et de Soutien Logistique) type, currently under construction at OSN and that will be the first Flagship of the Algerian Navy.

Aim of the visit was to test the performance of the naval simulator (which reproduces the BDSL navigating bridge and the operations room) in view of a possible purchase of one or more pieces to be used in Algeria for several purposes (like the training of the future BDSL crews, or the Cadets from the Algerian Naval Academy).

The delegation was also shown the teaching supports available to Maricentadd, including the “tactic trainer” of the Tactic Training Department, used to train the command teams of the Navy units, and the fire and leaks training provided to the Platform Systems Training Department of Punta Penna Pizzone. Captain Blasi, Chief Officer of the Italian Navy Programming Center ended the visit describing the numerous activities carried out at the Center.

The synergy between the Italian Navy and OSN offers a sound image of the “Country system,” introducing the Algerian delegation to a highly competitive product at international level. This innovative cooperation, inaugurated for BDSL, has already given positive effects, since Algeria has positively considered the offer to buy a new minehunter together with a “training package.”
