SAILING DIRECTIONS

They complement nautical charts, including all those data which cannot be represented in a chart, such as coastal views, navigational aids, harbour plans, planning and sailing directions, approaches to harbours and anchorages. In eight volumes – P1 to P8 – they cover all Italian home waters. To guarantee safe navigation, sailing directions must be maintained and updated according to NOTICES TO MARINERS.

LIST OF LIGHTS AND FOG SIGNALS

 


 

It provides all information relevant to lighthouses and light signals in the Mediterranean Sea, such as International progressive number, name, latitude and longitude, a description of the building and of the light and/or sound signal.

 RADIO SIGNALS

This book provides all the necessary information to access navigational aids, such as radio beacon services, satellite systems and VTS. It is divided into two sections, one on radio signals and one on weather stations and services.

AGENDA NAUTICA

Agenda Nautica, published by IIM since the 50’s,  has become a real collector’s item. Full of useful information, from geography to meteorology, from safety to laws concerning leisure boating, it includes a perpetual calendar, conversion tables  and the photographs of all the units of the Italian Navy.
Each year is dedicated to a different topic. Agenda Nautica comes with a DVD.


LOG BOOK

For the recording of all navigational data – route, weather, technical details relevant to the vessel and genaral notes. It is particularly useful for leisure boaters.

PRACTICAL NAVIGATION MANUAL

With all practical information for travelling at sea, it is a must for all mariners. The latest edition contains an additional chapter on electronic charts.

 


NAUTICAL ALMANAC


 

 

Containing all the astronomical data of celestial bodies necessary to calculate the ship’s position while at sea.

TIDE TABLES

A useful booklet used for tidal prediction in the main ports of the Mediterranean Sea. It reports the daily times and height of high and low water for each location. Tide heights at intermediate times can be calculated accordingly.
